What is the Equipad™ Saddle Cloth System?

The Equipad™ Saddle Cloth System is made up of two parts; a Vented Saddle Pad (the inner part) and the Skin (the outer part).

The Vented Saddle Pad is a soft vented pad with a unique mesh weave to allow for better shock absorption and air flow.

The Skin simply slips over the Vented Saddle Pad to make up the finished product. All Skins utilise Fortitude™, a leading edge merino based textile, for maximum horse comfort. Skins are available in two styles, 'ProRide' which is made entirely from Fortitude™, or our popular 'Coordinates' range.

All Equipad™ Skins include Fortitude™ on the underside (the bit that sits directly in contact with your horse. Fortitude™ is a breakthrough fabric technology which combines merino wool with polyester to deliver a high tech, high performance textile, with astounding strength to weight ratio.

Q. Where can I buy the Equipad™ Saddle Cloth System?

The Equipad™ Saddle Cloth System is available exclusively from Clemett Road Limited. We have decided to sell the product directly to our customers, rather than through retail outlets and saddleries, to ensure the product remains affordable. That way we can use the best possible components and fabrics in this product. 

If you haven't purchased it from Clemett Road, then it's probably not an Equipad™.

Q. What shapes are available?

The Equipad™ Saddle Cloth System is currently available in a standard shape 64cm x 90cm.  Therefore when you purchase additional skins, they will always fit the Vented Saddle Pad inner.  This original shape has been designed to fit a wide variety of sadde types and disciplines. 

Q. Will other shapes be available in future?

Yes.  We are planning to add additional shapes to our range in future (possibly a dressage shape to offer extra length or a numnah style shape).  Your feedback is welcomed so please get in touch and let us know what shapes you'd like to see us add to our range.

Q. My horse is coldbacked and very sensitive, will the Equipad be suitable?

Absolutely. The Equipad™ Saddle Cloth System is super comfy and moulds to the horses back very quickly while it warms during saddle up.  We tested the Equipad™ on a super sensitive horse during our field trials and were amazed to see the difference in reaction between the first ride and subsequent rides. In the first ride, the horse reacted as he normally did, but quickly settled into his work.  On the second and subsequent rides, there was hardly a reaction.  The beauty of the Equipad™ system is that even if you change the Skins and colour of the outer, it all feels the same to your horse who will quickly get used to and enjoy the extra comfort and padding the Equipad™ Saddle Cloth System offers.

Q. I have three horses in work at any one time, what's the most cost effective way to buy this system?

This will depend on whether you ride one horse at a time or whether you're working two or more at once.  If you ride one horse after the other, then you may benefit from purchasing one of our combo starter packs... eg; one inner Vented Saddle Pad and 2 or more Skins.  That way you can just change the Skin between each ride.  Additional Vented Saddle Pads and Skins can be purchased separately at any stage if you want to add to your collection.

Q. How do I care for my Equipad™ skin?

The Equipad™ Skin is fully machine washable. Simply cold machine wash on regular cycle. Line-dry away from direct sunlight. May be ironed on low heat. DO NOT BLEACH.

The Equipad™ Skins are much less bulky than traditional saddlecloths and therefore are much kinder to your washing machine!

Q. I do a lot of trekking, would this product be suitable?

Absolutely!  Whether you are a trekker, a competitor or enjoy hunting, whatever your discipline, the Equipad™ Saddle Cloth System makes trips away a breeze.
